In less than 620 days Special Olympics World Winter Games 2021 will be held in Sweden. Her Royal Highness Crown Princess Victoria of Sweden hope to be there.
– That’s my absolute goal, she says.

On Friday May 17th, H.R.H Crown Princess Victoria visited Östersund as a part of her hike through the regions of Sweden.

The visit started at Sportfältet in Östersund where the crown princess played unified-football together with local team IFK Östersund and children and youths from the region.

During the visit, Karin Riddar, head of operations at the Special Olympics World Winter Games 2021, gave a speech about the upcoming world games in Sweden. T-shirts with the games logo were handed out to the playing teams.

It’s now less than two years until the world’s biggest humanitarian sporting event – Special Olympics World Winter Games 2021 – will be held in Åre and Östersund. It’s the first Special Olympics World Games to be host by a nordic country.

H.R.H Crown Princess Victoria believes that the games will be of great importance for Swedish parasport as well as in Sweden as a country.

– It’s an important group that gets exposure and also are able to talk about all the good things they do, she says.

Do you think you will be able to attend the games?
– I really hope so. That’s my absolute goal. If not as a Unified partner, as a cheering supporter, says H.R.H Crown Princess Victoria with a smile.
