Special Olympics World Winter Games Sweden is one of the finalists to the Swedavias export prize that is handed out at the Guldgalan in Östersund.
In november it’s time for Guldgalan, a gala celebrating the local business community in the region of Jämtland and Härjedalen. Special Olympics World Winter Games Sweden – that will be held in Åre and Östersund in 2021 – is one of three finalists.
– It feels amazing! We are very pleased that Swedavia and the other heavy players behind the Guldgalan see what opportunity Special Olympics World Winter Games has to create a positive impact for the region of Jämtland and Härjedalen in an international perspective. We hope that the nomination will give us the opportunity to create even greater attention and commitment for the games in the local business community, says Gerda Tjernström Nilsson, project manager for the World Winter Games.
The other finalists are Fjällnäs est. 1882 and Midland Scandinavia. Fjällnäst est. 1882 is the oldest alp hotel in Sweden and Midland Scandinavia is described as a destination specialist.
Swedavias export prize goes to a person, company or project which has created “export-ripe products that increase international traffic” in the region of Jämtland and Härjedalen.
The winner gets marketplace at Åre Östersund Airport for a year, with visibility to more than half a million passengers.
The winner is announced on November 7th.
