Ricky Landgraff: ”To represent Sweden would be a dream come true”

From handball to snowshoeing. Ricky Landgraff, gold medalist at Special Olympics World Games Abu Dhabi 2019, will compete at Special Olympics Sweden Invitational Games 2020.
– I hope to be a part of the Swedish team at Special Olympics World Winter Games 2021, he says.

In less than four months, Special Olympics Sweden Invitational Games will be held in Åre and Östersund. Hundreds of athletes – both national and international – will participate in the competitions. One of them is Ricky Landgraff from Sweden. He is looking forward to the games.
– I hope to be part of the team that will represent Sweden at the Special Olympics World Winter Games in 2021. It would be a dream come true, he says.

Ricky Landgraff was a part of the Swedish team at the Special Olympics World Games in Los Angeles 2015 and in Abu Dhabi 2019. In Abu Dhabi, he and his fellow team mates in the Unified Handball team, won gold.

This time he will not compete in handboll – but in snowshoeing.
– It’s going to be interesting to run with snowshoes. I have never done that before but it looks similar to running but with more technique.

Ricky Landgraff will compete in 100 meter and 200 meter and he has started to practice to the competitions.
– At the moment I practice handball, which improves my condition. When the winter comes I will start to practice snowshoe technique.

Competitions at the Special Olympics Sweden Invitational Games will be held in Åre and Östersund February 1-4th.
